Daniel J. Canon practices in the areas of civil and constitutional rights litigation and is a founding member of the law firm Clay Daniel Walton & Adams, PLC. His practice focuses on issues within the criminal justice system, abuse/overreach by government, and employee discrimination. He is best known for his work on Obergefell v. Hodges, the U.S. Supreme Court ruling which secured marriage equality in all 50 states. He currently represents the couples suing the Rowan County Clerk, Kim Davis for violating their constitutional rights. His commentaries on constitutional law have been featured on Nightline, Huffington Post, USA Today, and The New York Times.
